The Legislative Department of the Local Government Unit of Tigbauan underwent the 2023 Local Legislative Awards Provincial On-site Evaluation last September 1, at the SB Session Hall of the Municipal Hall of Tigbauan. The evaluation team was headed by Engr. Carmelo F. Orbista, CESO V, Provincial Director of DILG Iloilo Province, and Maria Fatima R. Daiz, a representative from DILG Iloilo Province. Along with them were the Vice-Chairpersons and Members of the Provincial Awards Committee (PAC). The Local Legislative Award accords official recognition to a Sangguniang Panlungsod or to a Sangguniang Bayan that excels in the enactment of ordinances or resolutions that ultimately contribute to the attainment of desirable socio-economic and environmental outcomes. (DILG Memo Circular No. 2023-092) The award also acknowledges the innovations and distinctive practices of Local Legislative Departments, particularly of cities and municipalities, for adapting developments that would help build an effective and efficient local administration. The performance of the Legislative Department was evaluated based on the 6 award criteria: Responsiveness of the Legislative Agenda, Availability of Legislative Documents, Effectiveness of Performance of the Sanggunian, Efficiency of Performance of Sanggunian, Legislative Citations and Awards, and Capacity Development for Legislators and Staff. The result of the evaluation will be announced within this September 2023. The top performer for each category, Component Cities Category, 1st to 3rd Class Municipalities Category, and 4th to 6th Class Municipalities Category, will represent the Province of Iloilo at the Regional Level of the 2023 Local Legislative Awards.
