In TV Scriptwriting and Broadcasting Category (English), Region VI (Western Visayas) has been hailed as the overall 2nd Place Best in Newscast in the National School Press Conference (NSPC) 2024 held at Carcar City, Cebu, Central Visayas on July 8-12. The team is composed of exceptional journalists and broadcasters mainly from Tigbauan NHS, Guimbal NHS and Sta. Barbara NCHS, and bagged several awards as follows; Tigbauan NHS students’ Sung Ho Seo excelled as 2nd Best Anchor, Kristel Okuno’s exceptional scriptwriting led her to win 1st place Best Script, Laurice Bilbao also stood out, securing 2nd place in both the Best News Presenter and Best TV Director alongside with Rea Teologo who earned 3rd Best News Presenter and Lloyd Tubillara jointly received 1st place for Best Technical Application [with Guimbal NHS’ Laurence Genizera]. Meanwhile, Santa Barbara NHS’ Angelo Joachim Palma earned the 1st Place Best News Presenter and Guimbal NHS’ Laurence Genizera also won 1st Place for Best Technical Application. The team also received 3rd place in Best Development Communication. Team Region VI competed against 17 other regions across the Philippines. Congratulations, Tigbauanon students!
