The Local Government Unit of Tigbauan, led by Atty. Virgilio T. Teruel, Municipal Mayor, with the active involvement of Tourism Tigbauan , led by Mrs. Phoebe Torrico, joyfully welcomed Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez, Utah Valley University President, and her colleagues to the tranquil plains of Brgy. Nagba, Tigbauan, Iloilo. Born and raised in Brgy. Nagba, Dr. Tuminez faced numerous challenges on her journey to success. Despite her humble beginnings, she demonstrated unwavering courage and determination to achieve her goals. In 2018, she made history as the first female president of Utah Valley University. Dr. Tuminez visited her hometown Tigbauan, to once again relive the beat of its culture and introduce her journey from her humble beginnings to the trustees of the Utah Valley University. The President's Tour Experience is an inspiring journey that gives us a glimpse into the boundless opportunities of life. Dr. Tuminez's story is a shining example that with hard work and dedication, nothing is unattainable.
